3 Ways I calm my anxiety

If you personally know me, or have read my blogs in the past. Then you definitely know my history of having anxiety. First I was very discreet when it came to having anxiety. Why? I have no clue! But once I noticed that suffering from anxiety was basically the new โ€œnormโ€ because itโ€™s so many others who suffer from it to. I became more comfortable with sharing my issues. I also had to realize that stress plays a big part of anxiety. Learning to identify what anxiety actually is, was very helpful for me.

Here are some things I love to do to help ease my mind or return to a sense of calm:

1. The most important thing to do when I am having a bad day or just feeling anxiety is to literally say in my mind or to silently to myself โ€œThis is totally normal. It is absolutely fine for me to be feeling this way or having these feelings. I just need to be light on myself today.โ€ It is normal for emotions to flow naturally and embracing this makes you feel so good. Allowing yourself to feel it all and having empathy for yourself will get you throughโ€ฆ

2. When I wake up and can tell right away that I am feeling anxious I will usually rearrange my day to be a tad bit more slow paced then usual. If I have anything important to do I try rescheduling for another day. Usually when I put everything on pause it instantly makes me feel more calm. And me being this way when it comes to not being able to make it somewhere due to personal issues makes me more understanding when someone has to cancel plans or reschedule on me, especially knowing it might make their day feel a lot easier.

3. Doing my hobbies before bed has been amazing and relaxing for my mind. Iโ€™m an big over thinker and at night my mind races with situations Iโ€™ve been through or wondering what others are thinking. Getting all cozy, making my kidโ€™s snacks, reading a book, listening to a relaxing podcast, bullet journal, looking up business ideas, anything! It is so mindless and I have been able to have such fulfilling nights which leads to better sleep for me.

These are the three things that keeps me calm when my anxiety is kicking inโ€ฆ. What keeps you calm? Let me know I would love to hear yours!

See you soon on the next blog

4 Ways you can start practicing habits of choosing self-love

Now days self-love has been mentioned a lot more. But letโ€™s admit that learning to love yourself is one of the most powerful and important things you can do in life. While itโ€™s also important to love yourself, we tend to find that area of self-love a mental block. When you practice self-love, we cultivate a healthy personal bond with ourselves and become our own bestfriend.

Here are 4ways you can start practicing habits of choosing self-love:

ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR STRENGTHS

When was the last time have you acknowledged your strengths? When was was the last time have you looked at yourself in the mirror and said things you like about yourself? Make a list of those things, write it down, read it daily until it permanently sticks to your brain. Treat this list like itโ€™s your own personal daily reminder.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR NEEDS

What are your needs? Write down a list of your needs and take action. Sometimes we are quick to help others with there needs and not put ours first. Itโ€™s ok, you just have a heart of gold. But itโ€™s ok to take time out for yourself and start telling people no.

END THE HABIT OF HATING WHO YOU ARE

Remember confidence is key. You tearing yourself down is whatโ€™s stopping you from prospering. Have confidence in yourself in every aspect. Letโ€™s work on loving the thought of who you are because no matter what there is no one in this world like you and thatโ€™s what makes you unique.

MAKE YOUR BODY HAPPY

When learning to love ourselves we focus plenty of time and attention on our bodies. And how we feel inside our bodies affects how we feel outside of our bodies. You definitely want your body to feel loved and not disconnected. So itโ€™s very important that part of your self-love routine you do things that make you feel great internally.

5 Toxic morning habits to give up in the morning

Honestly i suffer from insomnia, and have been suffering from insomnia since i was an teenager. So transitioning my life into being a morning person has really been difficult for me. I really do not like mornings when it comes to handling things, & at a point of time i would be really sluggish. But i did realize that mornings are definitely more productive, healthier, & much easier to maintain. When you get up in the morning, you can run your errands, cook a good breakfast, go for a fresh walk, go to work and be done for the rest of your day & i can go on. So getting up early has definitely been a priority for me. Now, If you want to improve your life for a happier, healthier and more productive lifestyle then stop doing these 5 toxic morning habits immediately.

  1. Waking up late: Truthfully, if you are continually waking up LATE, ask yourself where did time go? Exactly! too far. Your day is pretty much up because either you keep turning that alarm off, your not really caring about getting up, or your just being pure out lazy. Wake up early so you can get prepared for a much successful day. But make your first hour, your self care time. The first hour after waking up must be specifically for nurturing yourself. Your growth, your happiness and mental health all plays part of a start of a new day.
  2. Checking social media first thing in the morning: This is an epic fail! I had this problem bad. My phone was the first thing i thought about when i woke up, and i had to fix that issue asap! You must never start your day checking your phone and scrolling through Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. And truthfully this small habit affects our mood and our entire day if you think about it. That’s how much social media has an affect on us. Social media is a big distraction and can have you out here missing out on the importance things of life. When i’m distracted i feel like i have an heavy burdened on me & it’s definitely not a good feeling. Try turning your phone off before bed and not powering it back on.No excuses!
  3. Not getting natural light & fresh air flowing: Get some natural light and air after waking up. We are human beings, so nature is us 100 %. Also, once all the windows are opened and it’s fresh air & light coming into your home, you began to start feeling energized. Wake up & open up!
  4. Not drinking your herbal teas: Drink some good ole organic green tea every morning. Green tea is good for the body. Green tea improves brain function & protects the brain from aging & more.
  5. Not sitting in peace: Stop having morning chats, use your mornings on focusing purely only on you. Having those talks in the am only stall out time then you will look out & your morning has been wasted.

Hope these 5 steps helped or gave you an idea on getting rid of toxic habits. Donโ€™t forget to head to my other blogs and check them out ๐Ÿ˜Š.

How to practice mindful productivity

“You can do so much at once, but focusing on multiple things at once will not be effective.”

-Seqouia

I’m sure you have lost focus on doing more than one task at once to the point where you find yourself not getting much done as you expected. Especially for those who are easily distracted.

Practicing mindful productivity means challenging your own self-knowledge to find the best out yourself.

To be mindfully productive means to focus on one task, and focusing on one task makes things less complicated. Itโ€™s times we be all over the place, so pace yourself and focus on just one. And remember this is just a simple practice so you will not change over night!

So letโ€™s make a habit of practicing mindful productivity, hereโ€™s a few things you can do:

โ€ขListen to yourself

Stick with your intuition and take a break if you need one.$!

โ€ขTake baby steps

Donโ€™t beat yourself down because you arenโ€™t getting done in a timely manner. Your not perfect, no one is. Trying to become a perfectionist is going to interfere your productivity.

โ€ขWork accordingly

Timing is definitely everything. Work at your natural rhythm and go with the flow.

โ€ขEstablish priorities

Have a list that contains all tasks in one.

โ€ขWrite a to-do-list

Break it down and be specific so you can be able to analyze your task.

โ€ขQuit multitasking

Slow your roll, and stop doing more than one thing at once.

Letโ€™s start living in the moment try to intentionally bring discerning attention to everything you create & do. Treat yourself & accept who you are! All these things I listed does help with mindful productivity. Itโ€™s all about positive energy and knowing whatโ€™s best for you.

Hope this helps ๐Ÿ’›โ€ฆ

Forgive yourself then Free yourself

Extremely thrilled to write about this topic. I know a lot of people including myself has or had a dark cloud over their shoulder because of something they fault themselves about. Especially when it’s something we have control of. What we don’t realize is that, it’s just a feeling though. A feeling that’s only temporary. Feelings can’t kill you, but running from them can.

We as humans visualize how things can be so much better then what we are currently going through, but not realizing how much power we have to make our visions come true. But when we doubt ourselves, we are lacking and not pushing towards prosperity. Anybody can prosper, it’s simple. But the mind is powerful and you have to compete with yourself, challenge yourself, and to become a better version of you. Our life is a balance and you just have to learn how to maintain it. Holding on to pain just makes you suffer.

Three words:

  • Free
  • Open
  • Balance

Once you forgive yourself. It’s time to free yourself. You can free yourself from anything that can hold you back. Like for me, I am freeing myself from negative energy, negative people, negative thoughts, disappointments, toxic locations, toxic people, lack of growth, and the list goes on. But what most people don’t realize is that we have more freedom then we think. You have to just open up your mind to new things, it’s always good to venture out.

Try writing down what bothers you, and writing down ways you fixed or ways you can fix those problems. Write down why you haven’t forgiven yourself, then write down how you forgiven yourself. This will give you clarity an will help you open up your mind to finding new ways to cope with what’s bothering you.

I always make sure I encourage people to write โœ๏ธ whom reads my articles because writing definitely does help a lot. Especially if you donโ€™t want to go to a psychiatrist or vent to anyone. Writing is a peace of mind. You can come to a conclusion with a lot of situations in your life.

I really hope this blog helps someone out there with clarity or at least given someone a different outlook on how to move forward in life. Remember forgive yourself, and free yourself!

Back from my mental break

Hello ๐Ÿ˜Š.

So guess what? ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ I’m back, and I’m better.

This has been the most stressful, depressing, and confusing year. From going through this pandemic, family death, not employed, slow running business, relationship issues, money issues, and I can go on and on.

So I decided to take a break for a while to get my mental together. I went through a bad depression, and sometimes I still feel like I’m in a dark place. But I feel 85% better than I did. Sometimes I lack of self control and react in a way where I just give up on hope. To prosper I have to let go and move past any negative that’s going on in my life. And I finally did that. So now I’m here today writing this to open up spiritually & mentally so my readers and supporters can either relate or understand the process of dealing with depression and how it’s okay to take a break away from everything.

Self care is the best appreciation you can ever give to yourself. Focus on what makes you happy and what can you do to keep it that way. โœจ

This article wasn’t created to be long, I just wanted to let you all know that I’m back and what’s been going on with me.

Anyways, stay tuned to the next blog & podcast.

Stay free, open, & balanced…. ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ”ฎ โ˜ช๏ธ

Letโ€™s talk Black lives matter and coping with traumatic racism

I would say since these past couple months, but it actually been decades since my black people haven’t been treated fairly. But, we lost another black man name George Floyd and now we are beginning to fight harder for our rights because we are beyond tired!!

My name is Seqouia Battle the creator of bubblegumplease, and i am a 29 year old black woman. I have been followed around in stores, I have been called names such as “monkey”, “african booty scratcher”, “too dark”, “pretty for a black girl”, and I can go on. This is my first time actually talking about it publicly. I’m sure growing up a lot of others has witnessed being called them names before and more. It’s definitely not easy being black at all.

As i type this i get very emotional because this is definitely a traumatic topic. I’m sure for a lot of us. Dealing with racist human beings can haunt people, increase insecurities & lower people self esteem.

What happened to George Floyd is very disgusting not only that he was lynched on camera. That was the most terrifying scene I have ever seen in my 29 years of life watching someone take there last breath with someone knee on there neck :(. Our community has finally came together because we are beyond FED UP. Although I feel it’s not enough, it’s a blessing that things are starting to be noticed.

It’s a lot of information I have been reading on my culture. Things have been hidden from us, things are owed to us, and it’s just so much that hasn’t been revealed yet. We are demanding our rights!

Black people can’t even protest without being picked at by the cops or harassed. We need to end unlawful police violence against black lives matter protesters. It’s not right that we can’t protest in peace. All we want is change, and it seems that the police is bothered by that. Hopefully things get better for the black community because we aren’t stopping until we do! ๐ŸคŽ๐ŸคŽ

I never thought in my 29 years of life I was actually going to be a part of an protest. I definitely love this experience and it’s beautiful. This is definitely historical, I can be able to tell my children about this time.

Here are a couple of exercises you can use to cope during this Racism Trauma:

1. Meditate:

Meditating can be a great coping tool for anyone. Especially during this time right now, it’s much needed. You can find so many ways to meditate. Go to a much quiet space or where you feel like your more at peace. Download meditating apps like https://www.headspace.com.

2. Journaling

I’m pretty big on picking up a pen and writing โœ๏ธ in my journal on my alone time. Journaling helps relieve a lot of stress, depression, and just helps you brain dump a lot that’s on your mind.

3. Talk to someone.

Sometimes talking to another person about your feelings can be very refreshing. Especially if you are the type of person who likes to vent. Express yourself, and let out all what’s bothering you. You will feel like a big weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

This isn’t something a lot of people were prepared for even myself. But I followed all three of those steps, and now I am coping. We have to just stay strong and stick together.

Three techniques to slay your Anxiety

I suffered from anxiety for years, starting at the age of 18. The Panic attacks and anxiety started at the age of 22, and it definitely took over my life and I found myself avoiding any situation I thought could induce my anxiety.

The thing with anxiety the more you ignore it, the more it will come hunt you. Sucks right?…  But wait, the more it hunts you, the more difficult it gets.

Sometimes just getting yourself together, like your appearance can change so much in your daily life. Don’t be a debby downer so much and find love within yourself. When we are stressed we get to the point where we just let ourselves go, and all that do is add more to the plate. You definitely want that plate to be empty with no worries.

In otherwise, SLAY THAT ANXIETY!…

#1 GET IN TUNED WITH YOURSELF

Think about all the good things you notice about yourself. Write it on a sticky note, journal, notes, hell wherever! Find yourself and figure out your happiness. The point where i’m getting to is that in order to be happy you have to make yourself happy. When you make yourself happy then what? you are in tuned with yourself. Can’t nobody tell you nothing different. AT ALL!….

#2 REDIRECT YOUR THOUGHTS

\When you notice you are starting to have negative thoughts then redirect your thoughts to something positive. Before i have an upcoming test, or job interview, I would always be negative. “I doubt i’ll pass” “I can’t do this” “I don’t think they will hire me”. Guess what happened when i had those thoughts? I FAILED! I had to start training my mind to turn a negative back to positive , and i still work on this til this day now.

#3 BE MORE WORRYLESS

We have to get out of that “worry” mode. Sometimes when you worry too much it actually triggers you to have anxiety attacks. We apply so much pressure on ourselves and we don’t have to. Live in the moment and be fearless. When you start to worry, find a good solution that can help prevent that. Remember it’s all in the head. Your mind will play tricks on you, especially for those who minds wander 24/7. So you have to play tricks back by winning over anything that’s stopping you from letting go of your worries. If you can’t make it to your close friend party on time? Hey! it’s not your fault. You still haven’t passed that test quite yet? Keep trying. Your close someone is treating you like crap and you don’t know why?! Who cares, let it go!. Stop worrying about situations or people who isn’t making your life no better good or bad.
