The 4 Healthy Habits that helps me when I’m unmotivated

Certain days I feel like I’m the best to do it. I set the tone of getting up & to it. I get up early doing all my routines, making me breakfast, going on my walks, staying on top of my hydration throughout the day. I straight out mark everything off my to-do-list & create new task for myself. I even feel social so ill contact my close ones & check up on them.

Other days I feel like completely crap, stale, lost of concentration.

It is completely normal to have bad days & good days. If you have more good days than bad, you are very much lucky! For myself, 2020 has been a tricky and rough year. So I can say things are up/down for me. I have an heavy amount of unmotivated days, and of course I try really hard to not down myself & tear myself down. But being a single parent and doing so many things on my own without much help can be a quite toll on my mental health. Journaling and personal self therapy had been something I have to normalize because I definitely can start to feel like garbage when I’m not too shabby about certain things. I remember those dark days when I use to prepare for my off days from work I would literally stay in bed. If you had days like that… then you know what’s up. Feeling too anxious or depressed to get out of bed can be tough to get out of. Especially when you on top of feeling guilty for not being as motivated as you know you should be. But I made a way to help rebuild my confidence & habits on days when I’m feeling thrown off.

Here are the four top healthy habits that I put together on my most unmotivated days:

TIDY UP MY LIVING SPACE

When I’m moody or just don’t want to really be bothered, the last thing I want to do is wash dishes, do laundry, or picking up stuff around my apartment. But 2020 I changed a lot of things around by cleaning up as I go, no matter what. And it makes total sense because growing up my grandma use to say (if you wash the dishes after you use them, you don’t have to worry about them piling up). For me I just dislike being surrounded by clutter and having the constant visual reminder that my life is an absolute mess at the moment, it definitely brings out my anxiety (lol).

MAKE A (REAL TO-DO-LIST)

I’m not talking about a list of things that need to be done as of today. And I can assure you all that even on my most productive days I do not fully complete my daily to do list. I’ll write down multiple things that β€œneed to be done at some point,” then, I’ll make my priority top three. Those three things must be done by the end of the day and of course I still will start with the least first to help me ease in and to help me build my confidence up for the day. And by checking the important things off of my to-do list always gets me going.

STAY HYDRATED

Before I start my day, I always make sure I rehydrate. I fill up a big jug of alkaline water with cucumber & lemon. Can I tell you refreshing? :). Drinking any kind of water is one of the easiest things you can do for your health and sets the tone for a better day honestly. Being dehydrated and slouchy is definitely not the move!

DAILY WALKS

Going for a walk at least 20-30 mins a day isn’t going to hurt at all. If you aren’t really a fit person like myself sometimes it can be a little tiresome & hard to get going. But if you push yourself and make walking a consistent move in your daily lifestyle you will feel so much better. Or even just moving around the house. My main focus is improving my circulation and mobility to stay motivated and on a move at all times. Yes, of course we need to have days to just relax, but don’t make relaxation turn you into a couch potato.

I try to have days where i let go of social media to do something for myself, and actually have me time. At first i can admit it was kind of hard because social media can be addictive, but eventually i was able to just go for it. Focusing on self-care is definitely important, especially if you are automatically a busy person and easily to get overwhelmed + distracted. 13 steps to protect your vibe

No matter what i go through i try my best to protect my vibe. I have gotten out of character so many times, and allowed so many people to get me that way as well. Spiritually & mentally, I have gotten far not reacting to certain things in a way i shouldn’t have. Hello SP Fam!

I’ve been going through a process lately of letting go of shame. I know i’m sure most can relate to this. It’s been very hard, but deeply healing no matter what steps i have to take.

For a while now, I kept parts of my past life hidden & always been pretty much secretive about most things. I was ashamed of the mistakes I had made and the way I used to live my life honestly. I had a lot of fear that people wouldn’t like me or judge me if I let them know the truth. And that is just facts on facts!

As I move forward in life I realize to have the kind of life that I want to have I need to throw out the shame I’ve been holding inside for so long. I’ve been working on eagerly β€œclearing” my fears as they come up. I’ve started to notice when I hide my real authentic self because of shame. I have made a commitment to stay true & 100% honest now. If I’m not ready to speak out loud about my problems I’ll remind myself to write about it in my journal.

This process has become really important to me but very long. I do believe when I show authenticity and my open spirited personality I give other people in my life permission to do the same and that feels really important to me for the most part.

What makes you open to be more authentic?

Sometimes we don’t always want to be our selves around people because we may not trust them or just feel uncomfortable. but no matter what, being authentic at all times has got me more further in life and gave me the courage to say what’s on my mind and not feel ashamed about it. Now i am able to do things that are hard and give myself that big push forward when it’s needed.

 

Is it hard to be authentic?

Yes it can be hard, especially to others who “aren’t authentic.” But that shouldn’t stop you from staying true. Maybe you can motivate someone to live in there truth and be just as honest.

 

Don’t give up on being a better version of you. To elevate in life, you have to make sure people know the real you at some point in life. Embrace your authenticity and be fearless. Some people will respect you won’t.
